How long does installation take?

How is OmniGrip Hybrid HFST installed, and what’s involved in the process?

OmniGrip Hybrid HFST comprises of a resin binder with calcined bauxite (with high Polished Stone Value (PSV)) blended with Australian recycled glass.

The installation involves:

  1. Surface preparation – ensuring the asphalt, concrete or steel surface is clean, dry, and structurally sound (profiling required for concrete)
  2. Resin application – a thermosetting resin is evenly applied to the prepared surface
  3. Aggregate placement – high-PSV calcined bauxite blended with Australian post-consumer recycled glass is broadcast into the resin to form the skid-resistant layer
  4. Curing and sweeping – once cured, excess aggregate is swept away and the surface is ready for traffic, typically within a few hours
Can OmniGrip Hybrid HFST be applied in wet or cold weather?

Installation must take place in dry weather and above the minimum temperature threshold. Once cured, Hybrid HFST performs reliably in all weather conditions.

How long does OmniGrip Hybrid HFST last?

It’s designed for a service life of 10+ years, with many installations exceeding this under normal traffic conditions.

How does it compare to standard road surfaces or spray seals?

Hybrid HFST delivers over 70 BPN skid resistance, significantly higher than conventional surfaces, that are around 45 BPN.

Does it require any ongoing maintenance?

Routine sweeping may be required to remove contaminants or loose debris, but the surface itself is low maintenance.
