Frequently
Asked Questions
I have questions about…
Is it suitable for high-foot-traffic areas?
Absolutely. Its slip-resistant finish and durable aggregate make it ideal for heavily used public spaces.
What colours are available?
We offer the full range of 206 Colours in AS2700 and can match custom design palettes to suit your project.
Is it safe to use recycled glass – won’t it be sharp?
When we use recycled glass in OmniGrip ReSurface, it is finely processed and encapsulated in a resin binder to create a slip-resistant, sealed surface.
Different aggregate sizes (measured in mm) can be used to suit the texture and grip needs of the environment, such as finer textures for pedestrian zones and coarser blends for more rugged use.
How does it help reduce heat?
Our solar-reflective options use pigments that reflect more sunlight, lowering surface temperature and reducing urban heat island effects.
How is OmniGrip Resurface scoped for my site?
Every project is different – surface type, road layout, installation method, and traffic requirements all influence what’s needed. Our team can provide a tailored recommendation based on your location and road conditions.
Can OmniGrip ReSurface be applied without removing the existing surface?
Yes. This is what saves the costs and carboin of constantly replacing existing concrete and other surfaces. OmniGrip ReSurface is designed to bond directly to concrete, asphalt, timber or steel, extending the life of the asset in most cases.
How long does installation take?
Installation is fast and efficient. Most sites can be completed in a single day, depending on the size and surface conditions. The area can typically reopen to foot traffic within hours, making it ideal for high-use public spaces with minimal disruption.
How is OmniGrip Resurface installed, and what’s involved in the process?
OmniGrip Resurface is applied as a resin-bound coloured surface treatment using either recycled materials or natural aggregates.
The installation involves:
- Surface preparation – The existing surface (asphalt, concrete, steel, or timber) is cleaned, dried, and prepared. Profiling may be required for concrete
- Primer application – A primer is applied to improve adhesion between the surface and the resin binder
- Resin application – A thermosetting, solvent-free resin is evenly applied to the surface
- Aggregate placement – Coloured recycled materials or natural aggregate is broadcast onto the resin to create a high-friction, textured layer
- Curing and sweeping – Once the resin cures (typically within hours), excess aggregate is swept off and the surface is ready for traffic
Can OmniGrip Resurface be applied in wet or cold weather?
Installation must take place in dry weather and above the minimum temperature threshold. Once cured, OmniGrip Resurface performs reliably in all weather conditions.
How long does it last?
With proper maintenance, OmniGrip ReSurface has a multi-year lifespan, depending on surface and usage conditions.
Is this the same as coloured paint?
No. OmniGrip Resurface is an engineered surfacing system, not paint or thermoplastic, with superior grip, colour retention and durability.
Does it require any ongoing maintenance?
Routine sweeping or a pressure wash may be required to remove contaminants or loose debris, but the surface itself is low maintenance
Is OmniGrip Resurface sustainable?
Yes. OmniGrip ReSurface is made in Australia using post-consumer recycled materials or natural stone, helping divert waste from landfill. It’s solvent-free, low in VOCs, and designed to be installed over existing surfaces – reducing replacement waste and embodied carbon. With optional solar-reflective finishes, it also supports urban cooling and long-term sustainability in public spaces.
